Is Your Small Business Website Mobile Friendly?[dt_divider style=”thin” /]

Yesterday, I came across an article with 2012 statistics, 98% of Small Business Websites are not mobile friendly, according to vSplash’s SMB DigitalScape Study.  WOW!  This is a big problem, and this is right in-line with Your Go To Guy’s product line.  When we do web design, we only build or convert websites and make them mobile friendly / responsive!

So what exactly does this mean?  In the Web world we would call this a responsive design, meaning your website is responsive to the size of the screen it is being displayed on.  In my opinion Responsive Design, or Mobile Friendly mean exactly the same thing.  There are some companies that choose to have a separate site for mobile display, utilizing a, however this is still a bit problematic in some cases as the mobile version is not “responsive” enough to accommodate the thousands of phone tablets, laptops and desktop models available today.

A well built responsive site will allow to have all your content on any device, the only thing that changes is the way it is displayed,  as the screen gets smaller, instead of “squishing” the site, and making the text tiny to the point of not being able to read it unless you zoom in, it will take different sections of your site and stack them on top of each other, always keeping the information at a great size so that your viewers can easily get the information they need.
